The 6th grade teachers were apart of the parent involvment committee. Mrs. Hines and Ms. Asford decided to have host an evening in which the students would teach thier parents how to create a PowerPoint presentation. During my classes the students learned the basics of PowerPoint quickly. Students were able to relay their knowledge on this particular evening.
Within the classroom, I incorporated a co-operative learning environment. Students who learned quickly would be used to assist struggling classmates. The technique, although used sparingly, did accomplish the required results.
The grading rubric included slide design, research on a computer historian, animation schemes, etc. To the left are acutal student slides that were created by the students.
First slide ever created by parent during aforementioned evening.
